Limited Finances
Limited finances is repetative issue when there is talk of how to improve country's healthcare. There are so many ideas but not enough money to make those ideas come true. In just the Sub-Saharan African, the countries count for only two percent of the global health workforce and one percent of the world's health expenses. Take those numbers and compare them to the fact that the region accounts for 22 percent of global disease burden, 12 percent of the world's population and more than 68 percent of the people living with HIV/AIDS. With the number of diseases and people living with HIV/AIDS it seems that Africa should have better healthcare, but the problem is limited finances. The idea of employing more people into the health workforce (doctors, nurses and midwives), it would increase the knowledge of diseases to more Africans but there is not enough money to give people those jobs. Also, hospitals may have the number of workers but they may not have enough money to buy enough supplies and medicine to treat all of the African health problems affecting millions and millions of Africans.
