The Rural Health Advocacy Project's Logo
Rural Health Advocacy Project (RHAP) is a partnership between the Wits Centre for Rural Health (CRH) and the Rural Doctors Association of Southern Africa (RuDASA). With the combination of the two organizations, they have been able to give the best service possible and education to the rural communities. The Rural Health Advocacy Project's main purpose is to promote better health care for rural communities. The mission of the Rural Health Advocacy Project is "Connecting Practice, Policy and Partners". They try to make health care affordable for the citizens in the community and accessible to individuals. Not only do they provide help to the rural areas of Africa but also to other rural areas of the world.
Rural Health Advocacy Project has four major goals when going to help out a new community. The first goal is to create new policies and reconstruct the current policies to make them rural friendly. Goal number two is financing the rural community. That step includes providing the community with the essentials to better health and tracking the health spending to motivate others to use their resources more efficently. Their third goal is to add and educate human resources for rural health. This would allow every rural citizen the adequate and qualified healthcare. The fourth and final goal is to implement the policies, ensuring that their plan is going to work.
