Shortage of Physicians
It is predicted that in 2015 there will be 255,000 doctors in Africa, which is 167,000 less than the World Health Organization's (WHO) than needed to meet their goal. Their goal is to have 80 percent of live births covered by a skilled attendant. This goal is met globally, but not in Africa. To increase the number of physicians in Africa and other places in the world with a shortage of physicians, such as South-East Asia, the World Health Organization said that increases in healthcare investment and stricter policies.
